Combine Action With Words

Any company can say they have good customer service, but do they really have it? A company can say they have the best deals in town, but how often do they try to prove that they do?

As the saying goes, actions speak louder than words, which is why the actions you take as a company will always do more to market you than just your words.

But how exactly do you incorporate actions into advertising that is based around words? When you get brochure printing done you can’t exactly put a lot of actions into your brochures, now can you?

Well, in a way yes you can. Testimonials are a great way of showing your actions through words.

You saying you’re good at something is only going to get you so far. People want to have proof that you’re actually as good as you say, and that’s why testimonials are able to drive up business so much. This is the proof that what you said was true. Here is an outside source verifying that you’re telling the truth.

I should note that just being good at what you do has a way of naturally advertising you as well. This isn’t as focused as something like full color brochure printing and you can’t control it as well, but word of mouth is a good way of marketing yourself.

One way to help boost this up is by asking people to tell their friends about you. It isn’t hard to add in that little request when you’re done doing a job for something. Just thank them for their business and be sure to mention to them that you would appreciate it if they told others about their time with you.

Another way is by rewarding people who do. Set up a referral system in order to give people benefits who tell others to come in. Now you can better capitalize on your good work while also making your loyal customers happy by giving them something in return for their help.

I’ve also seen many companies who win awards for their service using that as a strong selling point. Their brochures will note on the cover that they one a reward that year for excellent customer service or some other part of their business. Just like a referral this gives you a way of showing everyone that an outside source proves you’re just as good as you say you are.

The exact way you choose will be up to you and depend on your situation. The point is to be aware that merely telling people you do a good job isn’t always going to be enough. People want to see proof that you are what you say you are. Find a way that works for you to accomplish this.
