Bluetooth is a way to wirelessly share data between two devices over a short distance. Most people are familiar with Bluetooth headsets for their cellular phone, but you can also use Bluetooth to connect a wireless keyboard or mouse to your computer, if your computer has Bluetooth capability.
In order to use Bluetooth, you need to make sure Bluetooth is turned on and your computer is discoverable. To do this, choose Apple > System Preferences and then, under Internet & Wireless, select Bluetooth.
You use the Bluetooth Setup Assistant to pair your devices. If you don't see Bluetooth in the menu, your computer does not have a built-in Bluetooth module. In this case, if you still want to use Bluetooth, you can purchase an external Bluetooth adapter and plug it into your USB port like any other device.
Follow the manufacturer's directions to insert the batteries into your new mouse. To continue setting up your Bluetooth mouse on your MacBook, switch on the mouse; the indicator light should begin to flash to show that the mouse is in discovery mode. This will allow you to begin the pairing procedure.
Open System Preferences and then select Mouse. Your MacBook will automatically begin searching for a discoverable Bluetooth mouse. After a few seconds, the mouse cursor should appear on your open computer window. The Setup Assistant will then attempt to pair your two devices.
Repeat this procedure to pair a Bluetooth keyboard, only select Keyboard from System Preferences instead of Mouse. Once pairing is complete, your MacBook will automatically connect to these devices when both they and the computer are on.
One thing that Mac computers have always excelled at is graphics. Macs are still very much the computers of choice for serious graphics professionals who work with animation, illustration, animation, and photo editing.
Whether you are a budding professional or a dedicated hobbyist, if you are interested in doing graphics work on your MacBook, you might want to consider adding a graphics tablet.
Graphics tablets come with the tablet, which provides a work surface for either drawing freehand or tracing sketched materials, and a stylus that you can use as a mouse or drawing tool. Some graphics tablets also come with a mouse.
These tablets come in a variety of sizes and in a range of prices. If you enjoy detailed photo editing or using drawing programs, adding a graphics tablet is a must!
