Providing a Rewarding Experience for Customers

Providing a rewarding experience for customers is essential to retain the loyal ones as well as focus on new ones. A dynamic way to win the shoppers trust.

In first place retailers have to got their customers attention and this can be done through innovative marketing plans & ideas. Retailers dared to be different so when shoppers stepped in to a supermarket / hypermarket, and when they buy products it was an exciting and rewarding experience for them. This is the most successful way to win the shoppers trust and that's how they become your return customers.

Presently one of the most vital issues for retailers is a lack of trust among consumers. During the 90s we saw independent retailers lost market share to the large supermarkets / hypermarkets that could purchase at a better price and pass the savings on to customers. But now the situation has changed. Large supermarkets are still able to have an edge on prices, but consumers are looking for a trust factor. The question is that how to use this unique tool to an advantage. Once consumers perceived the business as a trusted business then it's an opportunity to expand its market share. Remember this fact that customers always talk about trusted retailers.

What retail businesses can do? Consider the following actions;

1. Employee Badges

Researched carried out that people who wear name badges are perceived to provide better customer service.

2. Team Information

Place certificates, photographs and achievements of your team members near the billing counter or exit gate.

3. Sponsorships

Sponsor relevant local events. We see everywhere on the banners and other visible sponsorship materials.

4. Guarantees

Give a guarantee on products you sell for e.g. electronics items, cameras, DVD, LCD etc. Highlight your product return policy printed on the billing chit or on the customer invoices.

5. Training

One of the most vital elements in any retail store success story is Human. Ensure that all your team members are trained in Customer service and product knowledge. Trust level comes from retailers who are polite and confident.

Today shoppers are wobbly and they always seeking new things in a shopping place.....for that matter you need a constant check what is going inside a shopping area, read the faces of shoppers....their actions and reaction an also keep an eye on your sales staff.
