Using a USB to DVI HDMI VGA Video Display Adapter

There is a lot of opportunity in how to display your computer signal to other external video display devices, such as a PCI based Video Card, USB or Firewire Based Video Adapter and multi-functional usb display adapter. And now, it seems that dvi hdmi vga to usb display adapter is more and more popular in graphics card converter. Of course, there are significant problem in how to install and debug video display adapter (no signal, no audio, driver compatibility and etc.). Today I want to list some common questions about it. Let's start with one of the most important questions:

Q1: why there is no audio after installing the dvi to hdmi adapter

There's potential for oxidization or dirty or even the bazillionth of a fraction (exaggeration) difference in different metal to different metal contact conduction at the adapter points, but overall both should provide an equally good picture. So, in this situation, you need make sure 2 points:

1.Onboard speakers in monitors usually suck pretty bad, externals are usually much better for pretty cheap.

2.Audio can be outputted over DVI as long as it's a newer ATI video card (not NVidia) using PCI-Express

Q2: The display on the add-on monitor is blank?

A: If the monitor or display screen power LED is green, wait a moment for the monitor to show the video as sometimes it takes time for the add-on monitor to show the video. And if the power LED is red, you should check the power line and battery DC interface. You can also reboot your system to try again. After that, usually it will work!

Q3: The add-on monitor is flickering or low definition

A: This is usually caused by a low refresh rate. In mirror mode, increase the refresh rate of the main monitor. Sometimes, other wirelss devices (cell phone, wireless receiver) may disrupt the display signal. You know, if you use an interference free USB to HDMI Adapter and high quality HDMI Cable, it's ok!

Q4: When I play MPEG/AVI file by Windows Media Player on the extended monitor, how come the display becomes abnormal when I switch it to full screen mode?

A: If your system is Windows XP SP1, we suggest you upgrade it to SP2 to solve this problem. And there is no problem with Vista or Windows 7.

Q5: When playing the video in full screen mode, the motion is not smooth

A: Terminate any other CPU intensive applications running on the computer. If you still have issues playing media content on the adapter, try the following steps: As some media players require DirectX hardware support to correctly operate, try a different media player which requires less DirectX support. Also, if you want to watch full HD movies, you need to use an 37 inch or larger HDTV. Only in larger Monitor, the USB to DVI HDMI adapter can work absolutely. Or, you can only watch edit-movies. Drag the media player to the add-on screen and close the player. Restart the player and it should open on the add-on monitor. Now try playing the media file again. The video playback may be unusual when the add-on monitor is mirroring the primary display and there is another extended screen connected to the computer.

Q6: In extended mode, the add-on monitor appears to have a black border around the desktop

A: This happens when the resolution used by the add-on monitor is larger than the resolution used by the primary monitor. Let's me show you a case that I often play football games on my 42 inch HDTV, and at first, it can't display in full screen mode or extended mode and I change the game setting finally. To solve this problem, configure the add-on monitor to use the same resolution as the primary monitor.
