Its summer time! The heat is getting onto you and you lazy to venture out of the house let alone workout. Your joints feel like jelly and even if you are an outdoors or an athletic person you just don't feel like lifting weights. However if you choose to sit at home in front of the tube, there are great chances that you stop working out forever and that physique that took a while to build will be wasted .
You should keep in mind the following details while working out in summer:
1) Drinking Liquids - In summer the body requires a lot of fluids to sustain the heat. It is important that you keep yourself hydrated at all times. After every exercise have few gulps of water. Dehydration can cause a heat stroke, dizziness, increased heart rate and headaches.
2) Reduce the period - If your workout schedule in cooler seasons is for around one and half hours, then reduce it too an hour. Reduce the number of sets in each work out. You can swim during these periods as it will really help you increase your stamina levels. The time for the workout should be early in the morning or late night as these are the times when it is cool. An early morning will give to get through your day with gusto.
3) Workout Clothing - Wear light fabrics and cotton, the idea here is that you are burdened with a fabric. Your outfit should help you to stretch and be flexible. Summer gives you test of your stamina and if you able to pull it off, you can run a marathon.
4) Check out the Temperature - If the temperature soars over 90 degrees Fahrenheit (32 degrees Celsius) then do not work out. Also you check out the humidity levels, if above 75% you can call it a day.
Finally if outdoor conditions are dangerous, and then you can work out at home, do some pushups, sit ups or jog on the spot. It is advised that you stay at home that harm your health.
